E-Science is a way for scholars to demonstrate their ability to read, comprehend, apply and communicate information derived from complex text. It provides differentiated instruction which engages all learners at their individual reading levels and constantly challenges them to improve their literacy skills. Scholars are given an E-Science lesson on a weekly basis to help supplement what we are working on in class or to review what they have already covered in middle school as preparation for the state exam. Scholars are advised to work on their assignments at home if they were unable to complete it during Science block. Parents can contact us for scholar log in information so that they can access e-science from home.
Scholars are given weekly assessments on Fridays (usually in the form of a quiz) as a way to evaluate their understanding of the material & prepare them for the 8th grade Science state exam. Scholars should review their notes and assignments daily to help them retain what we have done in class. Scholars should also do a comprehensive study of the week's lessons on Thursdays so that they are better prepared for the Friday Assessment!
